auto set monitor resolution to 600 x 800
I have a CD-ROm created in flash. Does anyone know how to have the CD-ROM automatically reset the users monitor resolution to 600 x 800. I have seen this done with certain CD-ROM's I've recieved, so i know its possible.
Thanks in advance

Most of the third party utilities below can do this easily.
SWF Studio http://www.northcode.com
Flash Studio http://www.multidmedia.com
Jugglor http://www.***********.com
FlashAnts http://www.flashants.com
Flash 'N Pack http://www.flashnpack.com
SWFKit http://www.swfkit.com
LPFlashEX http://www.logicplus.com.hk
My product, SWF Studio, allows you to change the screen resolution from Flash using the Windows API or DirectX (your choice).
The Windows API method has the advantage of working on every machine you try it on, the support is built into Windows. The drawback is that it can mess up the arrangement of your desktop icons (if you care about such things).
The advantage of using DirectX is that it won't mess up the icons on your desktop. However, you will have to check and make sure DirectX support is available before using it. SWF Studio has a command that allows you to perform this test.
If you want to do this on the cheap, check out this link...

Download a copy of Flash Studio PRO and you can do this very easily:
Code:
xRes = "800";
yRes = "600";
fscommand("flashstudio.setresolution", "xRes,yRes,result");
Or using DirectX, you can do:
Code:
xRes = "800";
yRes = "600";
colorDepth = "16";
fscommand("flashstudio.setdxres", "xRes,yRes,colorDepth");
I hope this helps!
