    Deprec....depricat.....depr.....

Is there a correct way, at least consistent, way to spell that one word, deprecated or depriciated or....

Why couldn't they just say "Void" or "Obsolete"?
The other day, I bought a box of animal crackers. On the side, it said "Do Not Eat if Seal is Broken". I opened the box and sure enough...

deprecate, deprecated. it's consistently spelled that way.

    I don't get the confusion.

the confusion arises because there are two different words:

    deprecate:

    To express disapproval of, deplore.
    To belittle, depreciate.

    depreciate:
To lessen the price or value of.
To think or speak of as being of little worth; belittle.

Both are two different words, but at the same time they are synonyms of each other. Kindof confusing in that respect I guess

you know, perhaps a new keyboard could cure that all caps problem. squirt a bit of oil, maybe WD-40, on the caps lock button.

    it works.

I'll go as far as to say even Americanisms are better than Wrongisms.

My question is, why deprecate? I understand the basic definition, but how long after an action has been deprectated will MM remove support for that code in the player? A year? 10 years?

Not really fair to leave the supported time period undefined. Then again, not really fair to remove successful useful code at all.
Stand by for emergency synapse rerouting
