resize windows for website sections

I am trying to figure out how to have each section of my website resize itself to the appropriate size when a particular section is chosen. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Such as a previous post in the forums, a tutorial or just an explanation. Thanks in advance. An example of what I am talking about can be seen at these two sites. http://www.synthesis01.com or http://www.kurtnoble.com I am more interested in the first site, but I assume both are using the same concept.

looks like actionscripting is resizing the mask. Try to pose this question in the actionscript board as well, Ill see if i can replicate it.
