Seperating sound file from .dat video

Hello all.
Im here after a long time ..howz this thread doing for you all? I have a doubt ,if anyone can clear me that wud be really great. Here is my question.
I hav a .dat movie file.it has a training session..contains video and voice over in it. i want to seperate music file from that.
which software i can use for this. if the software is available for free then that wud be really fine.

Your "training" video .Dat file is prolly a mpeg 1 (vcd) here are some instructions for MPEG 1 , if it doesnt work that means its prolly a SVCD (mpeg 2), if it still doesnt work its prolly Xvid, if it still doesnt work use Gspot or something. Lemme know wut happens and ill hook it up hardcore.
