    Image display issue after publishing

    HI..

Weird issue..I am using a banner image I created in PS and imported in Flash. On the stage it looks great, but after I export the mov, there seems to be a line across the image now where I have the logo as if there is a slight break. I cannot figure it out. I tried publishing the movie at different quality levels and also tried a jpg and png file, same problem.

Has anyone heard of this? This is actually the second time this happened to me with 2 separate FLAs.

Here are the two image examples:

It looks like this within flash:

After I publish it..it looks like this..look close at the LOGO

I only see some artifacts at the top of the e and a's.

Try having the image on wholepixels ( if its not already ).

Images with smooth gradients ( like yours ) can also suffer from "banding". This can be fixed by having the image in a movieclip, with alpha set to 99%.

    thanks pelle..

well I tried something else and it corrected the problem. And this is even more weird..maybe someone can shed light on this.

If I import the image to the stage and leave it as an image, not converting it to a symbol, the problem corrects itself. If I make it a symbol (MC or Graphic) the problem comes back!!

Then I noticed the problem came back when leaving it as an image. So from another suggestion, I set the image to 99% in size and that corrected it....very odd behavior...

Good tip with the pixel suggestion Pelle..it works with fonts..probably images too...
