    isolating images from video

    hi

I have some video sequences in avi format and i'd like to be able to extract some parts as a sequence of images that i can trace and re-work - is this possible in flash MX?

or do i have to do a screen capture frame by frame and then import the images ?

    thanks for any help

    Hi.
What's the codec the .avi uses?
You may be able to convert it to a sequence of images using Quicktime Pro.
You can also turn it into a sequence of images in .swf format using our software, Flix Pro, which can also automatically trace the images for you. There's a free demo if you want to check it out.

use virtauldub you can export as:

    1. a selection as images
    2. or individual frames
    3. export a chunk as video.

If your rotoscoping aka tracing I like to use virtualdub to:

    1. resize
    2. adjust levels
    3. deinterlace
