    Flash DVD disks?

    Dear Flshkitters,

Will somebody kindly give me some information about Flash DVD files? Is it possible to make “self executing” DVD disks with Flash projector EXE files? I know that this is possible to do with CD’s. How different is the process for DVD’s? Will somebody give a link to information?

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

Isn't there a standard autorun file for CD/DVDs? With simple code like

    Code:
    [autorun]
    open=FlashProjector.exe

I know that code for CD's very well. But do you mean that on a DVD Flash CD's should be done in exactly the same way as the Flash CD's?

Have you tested on a DVD the mechanism you mentioned?

    Thank you,

Haven't a clue, perhaps you can try on a re-writable DVD (if you have one).

    convert flash to dvd video?

With Magic Swf2Avi, you can convert flash to avi.

and then convert avi to mpeg and burn mpeg to VCD or DVD.

If you want to author DVD menu style applications you can't do that in Flash directly, you would need to convert the Flash to something else for the DVD player to understand it. If you think about it, it just makes sense. Do you have the Flash player installed on your TV or DVD player? What operating system is your DVD player using? DVD authoring for strictly DVD playback (not on a computer) is something comepletely different from CD authoring.

at the risk of oversimplifying, I think all the guy wants to do is make an autorun DVD that plays in a computer like an autorun CD.

the main question is, does the standard computer DVD player work like the standard computer CD player when a disk is inserted that contains an AUTORUN.INF file? ie., does it run?

my advice to the original poster, spend a buck and burn a DVD with your AUTORUN.INF file and see if it works!!!

Just burned my CD presentation onto a DVD. The Autorun.ini seem to work just fine off a DVD.

However there seems to be some long delays, on loading some of my external swf files. Anyone else find this

The video should be abled to handle a higher data rate than a CD as well.

You mean, you burned the SAME files (EXE, INI, SWF, etc.) on a CD and on a DVD and they both worked fine?

Also, did you view the DVD on a Computer or on a TV set using an external DVD player?

    Thank you!
