    photoshop tile background question

    Is there any way to make a tiled background image in photoshop? any tutrials or filters?

    this is what i do

    use the image as a pattern fill.

    select (ctrl-a) the image that you want to use. Edit-define pattern.

    on a new blank, grab the paint bucket, and set the fill to pattern and select the newly created pattern.

    Yeah, i picked up on that...

    I assume you have the image of what you want tiled. select that image and follow my instructions.

    What version of photoshop are you using? Tell ya what, post the object you want tiled and ill send you the patern.

    please dont take offence i would like to do this on my own, i dont like it when i give people my work.

    hey thats a good thing. theres nothin worse than someone who says,"i need to do this" then after an explanation,"huh?" then after another more detailed explanation," cant someone just do it for me?" thats the most annoying thing in the world. i mean asking for hints tips guidance etc is one thing. for asking someone to do your work is another.

    I think this works for most versions of Photoshop...

    Assume you've got a small square image -- say 96 x 96 pixels (helps if it's even numbers!)
    Go to Filter | Other | Offset (make sure wrap around is set on -- it's the default)
    Set the offset values to half your width and height (48 in this example)
    You now have an image which you need to modify in the centre to make a perfect tile. Reset the offset when you have finished and Voila! (I think...)
