    [Disc] Action RPG

    Hey there everyone.
    I have been thinking.
As far am im aware, there are no ISO action RPGS. As far as im aware, the only action rpgs are from square - enix.
    Examples would be:
    Final Fantasy Adventure (Gameboy)
    Secret of Mana (SNES)
    Seiken Densetsu 3 (Japanese [SNES])
    Legend of Mana (PS1)
    Sword of Mana (GBA)

So i was thinking of a good game.
    2 ideas would be:

    1) Build a tilebased arpg, in normal 2D mode. Do alittle cross over with a normal rpg game. So when you run into a bad guy, you go into an Iso map, and do your fighting there. That way it adds more fun, and skill, such as jumping and climbing, etc. Once finished return to the 2D map.
This is a quick brief of the idea

    2) Build it as a normal arpg, but instead of 2D always stay in Iso.
No battle screen maps, just battle right there with no switch like a normal arpg.
    Another Brief.

Well what are your opinions on this? What would you think is harder, what would you think is easier.
What would you enjoy playing more?

Or just expand with your ideas. I dont really care.

And if someone was to steal this idea, it would be great.
My future, future, future, future plans would be to creat it online.
So the more people who steal the idea, and play around with it to get it workin, then maby those people would be intrested to help out in the future.

Well talk to you all later then

    The ideas sound good...

The first idea does sound cool, but it would be alot more work, as you have to code and draw sprites/maps/interface for 2 different perspectives.

In my opinion - if you were to include jumping, climbing etc.. in the fighting scenes, it would be great to include those skills everywhere else - allowing you to jump/climb over obstacles in the game where there are no enemies. That would be cool aswell

i have been thinking of doing the switch from iso rpg to fighting style(street fighter type) but I'm a hardcore fan of Diablo II so I'l suggest leaving it all in ISO! I'm trying to make something like this so well i'l leave all my other ideas out!

I don't understand : isn't it what's already happening in Diablo, Baldur's gate, Dungeon siege, Neverwinter night or whatever PC Roleplaying game ?

By the way, Ifritt, congratulation for finishing 2K (though, you must have gone quick, seing your XP )

alright, well thanks for the replys.
I just wasnt sure what method to go about, but Iv considered your opinions and decided to stick to an all Iso game, and battle right there, like a normal arpg.
    Thanks all
