    simple motion not working?

    on this attatched movie clip i can't figure out why the motion isn't working.. i attatched trace to key parts of the animation.. they all go off at the right times,, but theres no animation? What should happen is when you hit the audio button it expands and the off and on appear...

    it seems like there are 2 instances of music control on stage. the extra one is under the stage. this will cause flash to have problems because it doesnt know which one to target.

    ohhh got it.. thanks.. one other question.. i have this..

    PHP Code:
    on (press) {
        if (
    _global.bar="open") {

    stop();
        } else {

    _root.musiccontrol.soundmove.goToAndPlay(2);

    set(_global.bar"open");

    trace("bar is executed");

    trace(bar);
        }

    but say i execute it once... and _global.bar is set to open (it says open in that trace)... than i execute it again.. how do i make it skip the whol else part?.. i cannot figure out what i am doing wrong.. i am guessing some synthax mistake..

    you need "==" instaed of "=" in the if statement. two equal signs is for conditions, and one equal is to set. so right now you set _global.bar = "open" when you enter the if statement.
