    Beginning Menu

    Hi, I am a noob at the whole standalone process, and am trying have created a menu that has options such as Play, Readme, Exit, etc.

    On the Play Button I have attached this script:
    Code:
    on (release) {
    	fscommand ("exec", "C:\Documents and Settings\Pat\My Documents\science\project.exe");

    }
    for some reason though, that .exe file doesn't load. Any possible reasons why?

    For Flash MX upwards all files must reside in a folder called FSCOMMAND in order to use the EXEC FSCommand. If you do a search on this board you'll find plenty of advice on it.

    Alternatively, download a copy of Flash Studio PRO and you can execute ANY file from ANY location as easy as:
    Code:
    file = "C:\Documents and Settings\Pat\My Documents\science\project.exe";
    fscommand ("flashstudio.exec","file");
    I hope this helps!
