    gif trouble

when i import a gif into flash, it adds a white line at the top of it. Why does this happen and how do i stop it. I have turned off smoothing in properties, but its still there. Ive also tried changing jpeg export quality and turned off file compression, but neither of these did anything.

    Thanks in advance

Hi have u tried turning the gif file into a .png or a .jpeg file ?

if u convert it the line will disappear at a guess its to do with the gif having a limited palate

i dont have problems importing either pngs or jpegs

    give it a try

i tried a png and the same thing happend. jpegs ruin the images quality.

should i stick to using the basic windows pallete? or setting the number of colours high or something?

just import the image at full colour with no compression, when u export it from flash it compresses it anyway

if eg u import a really compressed image, flash will the compress it again making it look even worse than it started out

    see how that goes
