There are, as you probably already know a ton of books out there.
I'm a beginner myself (just a few days now). I have had interest in the past though so I have a few books, like Savvy MX and did some reading on Informit.com.

Now I'm using the Lynda.com cd rom Flash MX set. 2 cd's and they are IMHO the best. It's nice to be able to watch everything on the screen plus I just like the style of teaching. I'm nearing the end of cd 1 and have learned quite a bit. They are more then a book , $149 I believe. Another cool option though is you can subscribe to Lynda.com and have access to the courses. I'm not 100% sure the beginners one is included but it's worth checking out.

Ah, youre right. I did some tut searches for "n00b" (spelled all three ways) and none appeared. Maybe someone could write something on the basics... but we'll have to wait for that =(

I am very new myself despite the "senior member" deal.

I would like to know of any slow-paced 'e-books' as well.

Flash Bible X is the only choice if you know nothing and want to become a flash master it has everything in there. its about 25 quid so if you are from US 40 dollars or so but its well worth it.

Is the Bible your referring to the one by Robert Reinhardt?
And if so, I see there are the Flash MX bible, and also the flash actionscript bible. Does the first one take you through intermediate stuff and some actionscript ?

    Thanks

    Hello friends,
Firstly I think they are lots of tutes for beginners on Flashkit.
Another good site is Kirupa.com with lots of basic tutorials.
    For scripting there is actionscript.org
I bought the Flash MX bible, but I still have not gotta proper look at it, Coz methinks Online Tutorials are very practical and yeah another thing is U should experiment a lot ---it makes u better as U grow..
    Cheers.
