    need actionscript help

    Heres the culprit:

    http://www.scottberks.com/help/signthrow.fla

I need help with actionscript so when a user punches in their own text, it shows up in the second screen... But I need it the way I have it done, if it technicalloy can be done that way that is.

Open to other ways, but I need the sign to be thrown. Sounds like a simple thing to do, but I cannot figure it out.

    Mucho appreciado!

I cant open your .fla file but i tried to understand what your talking about without opening the file. I attached an fla i quickly put together. If im not even close to answering your question could you maybe if you give me a .swf instead of the fla or expain it more i can help you better.

(Note: this post should be in the ActionScript board not the Flash MX one but i dont think anyone minds)

Thanks for the reply. I fixed the .fla, it was FLash 04, now it is Flash MX.

Ok i got it working, here's how it works
The text boxes at the beginning each have their own variable name (like an instance name...but not) then the code in the first frame sets the variables (sign1, sign2...etc) to equal the contents of each text block.

Then instead of having the strings (the words on each sign) you put the variable names of all the variables you have which have the text.
Feel free to ask me any questions if you have any.

    The new file is attached
