    A quick preloader question

    At what point do you actually need a preloader (filesize wize)?

    Depends, really. I use one for anything above 50k, and one with some kinda progress indicator above 200 or 300k.
    The other day, I bought a box of animal crackers. On the side, it said "Do Not Eat if Seal is Broken". I opened the box and sure enough...

    Also somewhat depends on the average connection speed of your targeted audience. If they're all on a cable connection, anything under 500KBs , IMHO, doesn't really a preloader.

    How about if your target audience is both 56k and broadband?
    Aside from that, how big can your preloader be?
