for my own case, i can't think of any disadvantages of using flash for my animation. the style i use is really simple - graphic and cartoony which lends itself well. but i've seen other animation artists do some amazing stuff with flash as the medium too. i used to use toonboom a few years ago, and it was great too, but that was much more high-end than what i need today. i'm beginning a short film soon for festival submission, and i think flash will have everything i need to transfer to digital video/beta sp formats.

you're right about the xtra learning process. this is why i haven't fully learned toonboom inside and out yet. it repeats a lot of flash
features, but not as effectively. However, it does offer some good complimentary features. I like having it onhand. I agree though, Flash is all you REALLY need. I think toonboom is a good extension if you're doing a lot of 2-d animation. it has interpolated camera news and it's quicker to draw frame by frame by frame. I guess it depends on what your needs are.

yeah i totally agree, it's all about what your needs are. toonboom has some amazing features. i haven't used it in many years. i had used it on a unix operating system/SGI workstation.

Your cartoon is great chief_alien.
I see alot more in this cartoon than just drawing or flash skills.
Your sense of humor and timing are on the money.
Thanks for the laugh
