How do I import a guide layer into Flash. I need to use a path for an animation and I can't draw it using Flash's drawing tools. I can draw it no problem in Illustrator but can I get the illustrator graphic into Flash in such a way that I can use it as a guide? No matter what I've tried so far it doesn't seem to work
Any help would be much appreciated

Guide layer >>
Have you tried breaking the image appart so you end up with a vector and not a rasta (bitmap)? You should then be able to turn this layer into a guide. If this doesn't work try simply hand tracing it.
But remember you have to add a motion guide directly from the layer you wish to guide, you cannot simply convert a layer into a guide and expect Flash to follow it. (This has been my experiance anyway, if someone can prove me wrong, i'll be a happy chappy).

YEs Sure Mate All You Have To Do Is Export Your Graphic Or Line Or Whatever as a .ai file
Then in flash right click on the first layer and choose add motion guide, a new layer will now appear!!
Then go to file>import and choose the file you exported from adobe illustrator
This graphic or whatever should now be on the stage!!
Select this graphic and then go to the modify menu and choose break apart!!!
You should now be able to use this as a guide!!!!!!!

Thanks for the help.
While we're on the subject, can you tell me exactly what the difference between tracing a bitmap and breaking it apart?

Tracing A Bitmap Turns The Pixels of the images into Vectors!!

rasta to vetor
Break Apart: Using Flash to automatically turn a bitmap into a vector image. by choosing modify > break apart.
Trace: The process of copying a bitmap image in Flash using the drawing tools. (See http://www.shockanime.com for some great examples of this).
