Man, what a week I'm having...not that great..
Anyway, I discovered a virus on notepad. The nasty virus would not let me fix it...so, I had to get rid of it. Anyone know where I could get a copy--free download, etc. I know if I reinstall win, I probably could get it back, but don't want to do that though.....

They have lots of replacements for notepad.
Emacs is better than notepad and is available from nonags. If you must have notepad then try your windows CD. If ypu cvan't find it look at http://www.microsoft.com They may have notepad.

I no see where @ there site. (I hate their site, it is very hard to get around & find what you want, sorry) Do you know exactly where on their site it is located?

Besides, I can't figure out how to get it from my win CD without reinstalling windows..if you can tell me how, that would be great!!!

Do a search on your CD for NOTEPAD.EXE, that should be what it is and just copy it over.
If that doesn't work, or you can't find it, tell me, I am trying to locate a download for it.

I searched it already, but I searched again to no avail.....It figures that MS would make it more difficult.
