Help, scroll text field, gradient masking, & more

hi, I've posted this in the General Flash Help for 2 days but no reply so far. So I'm trying it in here. I need some one to show me how to do a few things in Flash. I'm using MX6. I need to know how to:

1. make a scrollable text field.
2. make a button that when click on would close the current window.
3. make a button that opens another Flash(swf) file in a new window. I know how to open a URL in a new window but not a swf file from my computer.
4. masking with gradient so it's like having the image fading or tinting on one side.

I know some of these questions are already answer in some other thread, but I couldn't find it. So if you know where it is, you can just post a link to it.
