External JPEG INSANITY!
Hi,
I'm trying to use a nice xml/flash slideshow posted on this site (XML_Imag-Ed_Reyes-7890) by ed reyes . It's relatively simple yet nicely done.
I stripped it down to the essentials and created a folder of external jpegs to use in my version, just like the original. The jpegs were created to the exact dimension of the image box within the movie so there is no resizing required. YET, when the swf loads the jpegs, they are larger than I specified! (by about 20%) I've tried everything I can think of and can't solve this. Even more frustrating, the sample jpegs work just fine.
Is it in the publish settings? Any ideas on how to stop this insanity???
Thank you!

hmm.. maybe check to make sure they are set to 72dpi? not sure if this will work but sometimes it makes a difference when importing

Are you creating the jpegs from Adobe Photoshop ?
Make sure that the JPEGS are not 'progressive' as it wont work with these.
I think thast your problem sorted
try it !

JPEGs are made in PhotoShop at 72 dpi - not progressive (they wouldn't show at all). I've tried every possible setting in PhotoShop and can't get anywhere. Does it have to come through Fireworks? Is this wierd or what? It's insanity I tell you!

do you have the sampel move that comes with Flashmx. Its a slideshow gallery using extranl movies?
That might help you check the code.
Leave mail and ill mail it to you if you dont have it

I have it but I need to keep the images external - Thanks.

The images in that one ARE external .
Go to your program folder and youll see a fodler called "images". the images are pulled in from that folder.

..........its inside a fodler called "samples ".......in the same directory as the folder called "fla"...i think.
