I recorded sound using a pocket recorder which records sound in WAV files. Those files work fine on my Windows Media Player. Now I want to import those WAV files into Flash MX 2004. But when I tried to import, this message showed up....

This message never showed up before.
So, What do I do? I've tried converting to MP3, but the message still showed up.

    Thanks, in advance.

The file you are trying to open in probably not WAV they are of type (2File) or ..., any way open it with CoolEdit and then save it again but with ( Save Copy As) and save it as "Windows PCM (*.WAV)" or any WAV type.
And I hope it will work.

If you can, convert it to an MP3. MP3 files are much smaller than wav files.

FAQ #27: Why does my file play back at a different pitch or speed when I import or load into Flash?

Flash supports the following sample rates for uncompressed wav/aiff files.
    44.1khz
    22.05khz
    11.025khz
    5khz
