What would make you buy a PC?

My friend is a marketing exec with a branded computer manufacturer... Here in India..

He uis looking for fresh ideas in terms of what could woo the buyers to prefer a particular brand...

Any special offers?. freebies? promotions? features?

I would buy a PC from somewhere if

1) I needed a PC
2) I get total control over what gets put into the machine and what software comes with it
3) It's cheaper than if I built it myself

PC's all do the same thing, run the same software.

You've basically got a handful of value added features to pick from

- Performance
- Ease of use (aka built in helper crap)
- Support
- Cost
- Put a light in it

PC hardware is so cheap nowadays most geeks build their own. The mass home market relies on outlets like Dell and Gateway. A few hardcore folks with some cash spring for Alienware or other high end systems.

The only thing that sells me anymore is a list of components and the overall price, maybe a cool case, that's all.
