    URL not activating

    Hi,

I am using swish to create simple buttons in which the mouse activate moving text, then when you click the text, the action should send you to url, but it doesn't.

    Any ideas???

    Cheers

    hi, and welcome to flashkit.

never apply button events to moving objects. here's a more convenient way to do it:

    URl not responding

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I"m surprised, there are sites like www.sporting-life.com that have a news ticker that you can clock on and send you to a url page..

Is there another flash utility that will allow this.?

    cheers

so you want a news ticker?? here's an example (has to be tested in the browser, won't work in swish 2 internally):

    URl not responding

    Hi,

Yeah, that's the sort of thing I'm after for a news ticker. Different from what I wish for on my button style selectors.

However, I'm after this for a info ticker on my site. Can this be placed on the header band (ie where Microsoft Internet Explorer) is displayed)...

With regards to my buttons, I'm trying create an effect where if the mouse rolls over the icon, the title (About Me) spins like an arrow on a compass and when you click it, it explodes, then then sends you to an seperate URL.

    Cheers
    Pete

You can't place a .swf on a window title bar, however, modifying scripts like this one from http://www.dynamicdrive.com or this one from http://www.javascriptkit.com may lead you in the right direction. Bear in mind these scripts are on the page, not in the .swf.

My scripting skills are "soft", so I have no idea if you could run this script from within Max somehow. (I doubt it) I'm also pretty sure you cannot make any object on the title bar clickable, as Windows has that area reserved. (I think)

    Hope this helps a little!

While changing my profile, I accidentally clicked the link that said
"Add 'Dead Rabbit' to your Ignore List"
so now I can't talk to myself anymore...
