    loosing sound when importing mpeg

I'm loosing the sound when I import an mpeg.
Is there a way to maintain sound for mpegs?

Or do I need to use a different video format?

    thanks

    Hiya

You can import .mpeg if you have QuichTime 4 or Direct X7 and above installed. Are you making sure that the "Import Audio" box is checked when you import the file?

    I don't understand

I already have the mpegs from my client.
They have sound when I view them.

But when I import them into Flash, they loose their sound.

I have Quicktime Player version 6.5.

Why do I need Quicktime? Do I need to export these movies from Quicktime?

if so, what format do I save them as?

As I have said, I already have working mpegs. They just don't work when imported into Flash.

    Thanks

Any way you can send me one of the files? Either d/l or in email? Then I can test one here and let you know what's going on.

here's a link to download an mpeg

    www.caillouette.com/Chevron.zip

don't worry about the quality being bad.

I just need to puiblish it in Flash with the sound intact.

    Thanks mickbrit55

Hmm .... I had no problem at all. Make sure that "Import Audio" is checked. I have included a screen shot of the import settings I used in Sorenson Spark. Let me know if you get it working ok?

it looks like I have different optio0ons

check out my screens when I import a video

    http://www.caillouette.com/flash_example/

do I need to download an extension or something? I try to intergrate the sound but it doesn't work.

I have Flash MX 2004 Pro.

Why can't I place an mpeg in a flash file with sound?

    thanks

Ugh ... I am using MX ... not 2004 Pro. I hear that program has a lot of bugs

On your screen shot it says that it detects no audio, but it's definitely there because I imported both the audio and video without any problem.

Maybe you should look in the help files for 2004 Pro, or re-post your question, specifying that you are using Flash MX 2004 Pro. All I can tell you is that it definitely works in MX.

    Hiya

I disabled the link for the time being. First stage of the beta-testing is over and I am now into fixing some of the probs and adding new ideas. It will be back up soon so if you want to be included in the next beta-test please send me an email and I will get you on it
