    Help: TextField.embedFonts

    As soon as I change the text field properties to embedFonts by action script like:

    myTextField.embedFonts=true;

    All of my text disappears, any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Kamran.

    The embedded font probably doesn't exist in your movie. You need to export a font in the first frame or have the first textfield that you do that to actually have an embedded font.

    Thanks for your reply, Cycle. It worked, but one more question, can I do that by ActionScript? Instead of using linkage properties of font or using it before? Is it possible to attach font to a flash movie dynamically by ActionScript?
    Thanks,
    Kamran.

    You can't export a font through actionscript because the font has to exist in the movie. So the movie has to know that it should compile the font when the movie compiles. The "myTextField.embedFonts=true;" is generally used when dynamically creating textfields, but you still have to have exported the font or embedded it in a previous textfield for the thing to work.

    You can export a font by going to your library. Press the little button to the top right of the window and choose "New Font." Then you can go to the Linkage properties of the font and export it. For more information on doing this, check out http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl...haredfonts.htm.
