does this nav make sense to you?
http://theremedy.be/scrap/spaz.htm
Far from finished but I need a review from you users to see if this nav is as straightforward as I think it is.

Had to edit my first post cause of the different reactions.
Let me restate this. It's still the models website. I like this layout:

But also hav a big favorite with this one.

Appreciate your feedback, makes it easier to choose.

hello,
-Bad pixels, try to resize it in fireworks, or other programs, if you resize it in flash you get bad pixels.

Not possible.. have to resize it in flash cause when you click the model she scales up to 100%.
-
HEllo,
Try to dubbel layer the image, the layer on the back blur it radius 2 and resize it to the biggest image you whant to in flash.
Use this action with PSD Or Fireworks.

Yes, thanks for the input.
I was thinking something similar with swapping the image once it's smaller then 30% or something.
btw do you think the nav is clear enough.. also for the general 45 year old shopholder interested in viewing some clothes before he buys?
-
not good I picked second from the last model and it just stopped, got stuck.
Yeah Yeah, It was someone
else... I swear I didn't do it, and that goes for me too!

I have ear-mites! Help!
i think it's a cool navigation, i've never seen anything like it before.
I don't think the pixel - thing really matters all that much, cause the girls get prefectly clear once you click on them
But,,,when you click on a girl, the other girls become unclickable, that's not good because what it I clicked on the wrong one? Now I have to click on "Click here for ...", watch the green color grow, then finally click "Back to main" just to get back to the original navigation. That's like 4-5 clicks! I say simplify that and it will be cool.
Otherwise, neat ideas...keep goin!
-
Yes MB, you're absolutely right. The tricky part there was that if
you clicked let's say the last model and you rolled over the others
to get to the 'content area' another model would come forward and not
the one you selected.
I think I'll leave the other models just there for onRelease and not onRollOver once a model is clicked.
Clear now?

Hello,
If this is a nav bar to buy clothes, i'm not buying bicause a cant see detail's of the clothes.
Maybe you can let it zoom more out, or with a magnification tool, so that the costumer can zoom in on the part of clothes he / che whants.

KD, the models in the navigation have nothing to do with the actual
clothing lines. They just function as navigation.
The pictures of the clothes will appear next to the addresses and will be limited to a 4-5 pics max.
There's doesn't need to be detail in the pics cause this client isn't
selling clothes to individuals. He rather delivers clothing lines to
shops all around BENELUX.
That's why the addresses are more important than the pictures.
And because there will only be pics for 50% of the lines I thought it
could do no harm to have the models as nav. Think they won't interfere with the rest of the clothes.
Thanks for the input.

when you click on one of the models, she gets bigger, then the user is like "Wow, something is about to happen". But no, nothing happens. You have to scan the screen and finally you see the button "Click here for stores" which is really hard to see because it's white text on lime green. With a sigh of relief, we click that button, expecting some reward for all the hard work we've put into this website. But no, all we get is some boring addresses as a reward.
overall, I think this site is not working.
if it's just a information pool for business people, why use flash? It's overkill. slap together one page html with all the information right there, no gimics.
aside from those statements, you have awesome design skill.
-
Nah, let me clear it out for you. This is not the site, it's just a
type of navigation I'm experimenting with.
I'm only asking for feedback on the models as nav (and more
specifically the structure of it) wich is aparently not that good.
I'm looking for a smooth original type of navigation on this site.
Yet it has to remain simple and understandable for a large range of
visitors.
The addresses are there just to have a little content. They might not
even be there in the final version.
There will also be pictures of every collection once you click a
model. (actual content won't be that boring)
"if it's just a information pool for business people, why use flash?"
There's alot more to this site than this. The use of pictures and music was necesarry for this client so my choice is flash.
Thanks again for the input.

right on, with that said, i think you're experimentations are pretty neat.
it's definitly a first to use people / models as navigation, i like that.......
-
the nav is neat, except for the already discussed pixel issue.
I think what would be even "neater" is having them all as black sillhoutes (sp) then on rollover have them appear
-
It might just be my monitor settings or whatever, but the white text on the bright green background is very hard to see, IBM P202 monitor with 4 color print process calibration

But a very nice layout, reminds me of some of the work 1st born studios did for one of their clients http://www.firstbornmultimedia.com/w...ndon/index.htm
-
Thanks, ik_mac. Seriously had no idea that nav existed.
Alltho I remember seeing the intro with the cutout models but it
didn't remind me of the navigation inside at all.
Anyway, makes me reconsider using the alternate layout I had before
this one.

The Eror Group
nav is origional and a good concept.
biggest prob is having to click the model, then the shops, then the back button to get back to the nav.
you need to provide a back button on first click, otherwise general public will just get pissed off with it.
haveing to click 3 times on each buttong means 15 clicks altogether and thats before they have even seen the clothes...
add a back button once you click the model and i think it will improve 100% as a functional nav concept.
