    submiting email to php

I'm working on a instant win game for eddie bauer. I have developed the flash front end and someone else has made the back end php script. after the user completes the online game the are able to submit there email to see if the have won. The user gets back 1 of 4 respones from the php. this where I run into a problem.... I seems pretty simple, but I don't know what to do. to see what i'm trying to do:

after the game is played is where I need some help. I just can't seem to get an answer back from the php script. If someone could shed some light of knowledge I would be grateful

What code do you use to send the variables? What is the php set to return? What code do you use to check what is returned?
