Help! Need to Import Illustrator files to Flash

    Hi!
Ugh...I just spent five hours creating the artwork, images, text for my website and guess what? I go to import some of it into Flash MX and Flash says it can't do it. Please tell me there is some way to get my Illustrator work into Flash without having to lose its nice quality.

if more info is needed, let me know.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated!!! ^___^

What format did you save as? Flash is no good at importing .ai files ( or eps ). But recent versions of Illustrator can export as swf files directly, if memory serves me right. Complex gradients is something Flash does not understand though.

    Thanks, pelle...
I saved it as Illustrator .EPS file...I am using Illustrator 10. And Flash Mx...although I just tried MX 2004, and at least some of the art was able to be imported...but flash refuses to import the text...says something about it being "protected".(it's a font I downloaded off of dafont.com) anyways, i guess if anyone who has experience making websites can tell me how they get their artwork to be in nice quality because photoshop rasterizes everything and it doesn't look quite as nice.

yeah i have a couple gradients but nothing too complex, just a simple 2 color gradient. well if that is too much for flash, that's ok. but everything else must be imported somehow. >__<

That's what you should do. Than import these swf's into flash.

Make sure you change all text to outlines, also have most of the artwork grouped.

If you want to do it with eps files make sure you don't save them over version 3.0 - 6.0.

oooh so, importing as swf files worked but when I go to put actions on the illustrations, it doesn't work. seems like you can't put actions on a swf file...any suggestions?

You'll want to put it in a movie clip if you want to apply some actions to the graphic itself.
