    sharper text

    Hi there!
I've noticed on many flash based sites that the text used isn't blended or blurred so that i looks softer against the background. How do i get flash to do this? I think it looks better for smaller fonts.

The first thing to do is check to see that the text box is set for a top left registration point in the Info panel, then make sure the x and y coords are on whole numbers, like, 139.0 instead of 139.4.

Also, if the text boxes are in a movie clip, then the clip should be positioned on a whole number too. This helps.

Using a Dynamic text box instead of Static seems to help too.

if you use static text (and a font that is likely to be installed on the users machine) you can check the "use device fonts", this should have the same effect as using dynamic text without embedding any characters.

you could also investigate using a pixel font, these are fonts designed to look crisp at smaller text sizes (subject to certain conditions, such as being positioned exactly on whole numbered coordinates)
