Final movie shows objects outside the stage

    Hi all!

I am working on my first game in Flash 5, but I have encountered a problem. When I choose "export Movie" and save the game as a .swf file and then test it in Mozilla it shows objects that were outside the actual stage in the program. Especially the scrolling looks kinda weird...
This also happens when previewing the game in Flash.

Can anyone please tell me what to do to prevent this from happening?

    Mask the entire stage.

    thanks, but:

I know this might sound like a stupid question, but how do I mask things in Flash 5?

make a new layer at the top of your time line. On this layer, in the first frame, use your rectangle tool (without a border) and make a rectangle the same size and shape as your stage. The color of the rectangle doesn't matter because it will never show.

I can't remember in Flash 5 but in Flash MX, you right click on the layer name and select "mask". This will "mask" the top layer and the next layer one level below the top layer.

You will see the little icon on the left side of the layer name will change colors and both of the top two layers will now be locked.

Go to the next layer down, third from the top (your "mask" is the top layer and the second layer is the one just below it), left click and hold down your mouse on the layer name. Slowly drag it up very slightly. WHenh you've dragged it up enough, you will see the icon
on your top layer change color again...let go of your left mouse.

Notice now that the top three layers are now locked. A layer must be locked in order for the mask to work.

Repeat this step for all layers and your done.

    this is normal

since i use IE i dont have that problem, but for all browsers its safer to mask the entire movie anyways
