Man I love that car; even being in a Bond film couldn't make me hate it.
I seem to remember (when I was about to pick myself up one of those ) that it went for about $125k.

If that's the case, you probably can't afford it.

$234,260 is the msrp. but all of them are already spoken for (generally), so you will have to pay a premium to get the privellege to buy one.
the db9 is a little over 150,000. all of them are already spoken for so you will have to pay higher to get the privellege.. blah blah lbah.
a few v12 vanquishs are on ebay i think.
an 50's or 60s aston dbr2 set the record for most expensive car in auction at 12 million. I think.

That's really strange; when I was typing my first reply, I started to type out 'a quarter of a million' but decided to just use numbers instead. And, for some weird reason, I wrote 125 instead of 250.

the fact you called, and not had some butler or personal shopper call for you, was perhaps hint number 1 that you couldn't afford it
get the DB7 coupe anyway. quite a bit cheaper, almost the same performance, and perhaps closer to the 125k amount than the vanquish.

i couldnt find the DB7 what does it look like?

this is a quote from the car expert at bonhams, an auctioneer, talking about falling prices.
Staggeringly, even $20.5m for a GTO is nowhere near the price paid for what Kidston is sure is the most expensive car transaction.
“The record belongs to a Mercedes grand prix car, a W196 of the type raced by Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss
in the mid-1950s. Mercedes had donated one to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu which, in 1987, asked if it could sell the car to finance the renovation of the museum. Mercedes agreed and the car was duly sold for $3.5m. The car was kept in a bonded warehouse in Switzerland until 1990 when it was sold to a French industrialist for $24m. Three or four years ago it was sold to a German industrialist for less than half that amount.”
the W196 grand prix car, driven by Stirling Moss in 1955 over the 1,000 miles from Brescia to Rome and back at an average of 97.96mph! Moss was the greatest!
so I think the Ferrari 250GTO at $20m was the highest at auction, and this merc the highest private brokered deal...

Thats why I have to build my own, rather than buying one
