    How the heck was that done!?

    I'm thinking PowerGoo plugin in Photoshop, export as a AVI then import and compress.

    Actually, some of those effects are not hard at all. The other day I was browsing after effects tutorials and found one similar to that opening rush zoom in effect. (can't remember the url) Its actually done using the optics filter. Think you use the fish eye lens, but then invert it and do a simple tween between the distored image and normal one. No extra plugins required Literally, takes a couple minutes to do. The other ones probably had a ripple effect added on.

    The site is still very amazing nonetheless
