    Coordinate geometry sucks ass...

    How do I do this question?

    Study hard, pay attention in class, read your textbook and do the exercises. It gets easier.

    HERES A TRY:

    * mAB = 7-(-2)/2-(-4) = 3/2

    therefore, mBC is -1/mAB = -2/3

    * to find the length of BC, find AB using easy geometry and then multipy by 2

    * since you know the slope, what i did(not the most efficient way) was make a triangle to find the x and y components of change between B and C. (Q is a scalar that you solve for)

    .....|\
    .....|-\
    -2Q|--\ BC
    .....|---\
    .....+----\
    .......3Q

    * now that you found Q, the x-coordinate for C is Ax + 3Q
    the y-coordinate is Ay -2Q

    * i got results of C = (20,-5). i doubled checked my work using a formula for the line being:
    y = -2/3X + (25/3)
    where i solved for 25/3 as the y-intercept.

    i hope this all makes sense, i am bad at explaining things. If you need this done in flash, its not hard to code

    we have just done this in maths... if you want, i could e-mail the pages to you on how to do such a thing and some examples if you want.
    am I crazy... if so, just kick the other me.

    ok, the second problem is.

    P (or y-int) = (0,4)
    Q (or x-int) = (10,0)

    thats just simple, linear equations. then comes the tricky part. Putting thoses values on your page.

    Now, in vector mode, AB = 6i+ 9[B]j[B]... just to tell you that. and to confuse matters even more. thus making BC 12i + 18j (i decided to drop the bold, getting too slow to type so hand in there). Thus making CA= 18i + 27j...

    Now i might be doing this wrong, but i am doing this at night...

    C= (14,25)... now if you want this on a nice sheet of lined paper... just ask, it'll explain it more... and plus, I used vectors. so... yeah... are you actually doing them at the moment? because if you aint, its just another way to do things like this...
