We had an 8086 with Hercules graphics. Although we did eventually get one of those fancy 32Mb hard drives.

Oh, and there's a picture floating around somewhere with me and a VIC-20.
    blah.

    That's awesome, albeit pretty random.
I really enjoy forgetting. When I first come to a place, I notice all the little details. I notice the way the sky looks. The color of white paper. The way people walk. Doorknobs. Everything. Then I get used to the place and I don't notice those things anymore. So only by forgetting can I see the place again as it really is.

Bah! My first computer was an abacus! Though I don't have a picture anyway...we didn't really understand the concept of light back then.

Heh, I wouldnt even consider myself a geek. I mean I'm smart and all, passed courses on A+ certification and JAVA...know the hardware, software inside and out...but sometimes and whenever I cant get any design/freelance work...ie no money, and no place to sleep; I may find myself hopping trains to Chicago, union station; squatting/sleeping somewhere, sometimes eating out of the garbage. But the next day I might find myself back at the apartment I stay in with a nice computer, and a roof over my head.

Really, or are you just messing with what is left of my human nature?

    Ph34r the arrow keys!

I used to get some magazine (I think it was 3-2-1 Contact) that had Commodore 64 programs in the back. My Dad would pencil in the changes that needed to be made to run on this thing. I should go back and look at the code now. Probably not as impressive a feat as I thought it was.

So old school it hooked up to the TV.

as i type this 4 feet away on my bed i have 2 commadore 64's, a panasonic dot matrix printer, and the "hard drive" which is a normal cassette tape player that you record the sounds it made as you typed if you wanted to save any word processing stuff. to get another copy all you had to do was rewind the tape and replay it and watch it type it back out. so badass haha
