Things that make you go hmmmm

    Laptop/surfboard combo

I can't decide if this is uniquely geeky cool or just stupid. I like the idea of streaming video that lets you ride along with the surfer, but... well, I really think these are two things that should be kept well apart.

    Worlds colliding 'n all.

I think it has been done. Thank the Japanese for that great innovation!

That's depressing, the surfboard has a processor nearly 3 times faster than mine.

I once had a creative director that spent weeks working from costa rica as he was an advid surfer.

He would have emailed or im'ed from one of those.

yup, everyone I surf with is also a programmer/designer - we always carry laptops to find out that days surf report/spot and tides...also weather of course....we usually have about 3 or 4 laptops on the beach, with some of the girls watching over them, needless to say, no matter how much protection...a little sand and salt shortens their lifespans exponentially....seriously though, these things could take off...like I said, I know ALOT of surfers that are techies, lawyers, etc...they are going to eat this up...

That is sooo dumb, honestly how can there be a market for that?

Would have thought out there in the fresh air surrounded by water would be the perfect excuse to rest your eyes and get away from the damn computer.

uh, the market would be niche, first of all - kinda like a novelty - ...but if you get beyond the assumption that it would be used solely by private consumers you would see that lifeguarding and competitions are two instances where they are almost necesary...
