I have an Idea for my website and was wondering if this is possible. I want like a rectangle shaped box with all sorts of info in it but I want the box to be sem-transparent. The only example that comes to mind would be like (and this is the only thing off the top of my head), is the options menu in Perfect Dark.

    Thanks

If you are talking about a 3-D box, then draw each side of the box individually and adjust the Alpha downward on each one. Adjust the stacking order of these on top of each other and kablam!... transparent 3-D box.

Sounds Good Make sure though if you are animating this box, that you remember that Alpha's take up a TON of ram, just so you know Steve

    Eek do they

    I didn't know that.

Eeek! Does that mean that the resultant .swf is larger?

How much of a difference does it make?

all applied alpha effects in flash slow down the movie.
not because the .swf gets bigger (which is not the case) but
because the alpha effects take heavy on processor and ram.

whenever it is possible, try to use brightness instead.
