Need some comments on red splash color

Hi, I have added a red splash color to my layout and need some feedback on the color. Thanks for any comment. This is just a screenshot of the site. The site will feature lots of animation when its released later this month. I thought about having a option where users could change colors such as a blue. Thanks for any feedback.

Very nice job. I agree with going the darker red. But a very nice layout.

i dont know man; i think that the color you have selected flows nicely, especially with the lighter green color. the bottom boarder looks a little out of place, i would try a dark red to the lighter red gradient... or put a texture to it.
    nice layout though.
