New Project... Need Bunch Of Help!!

Hey hey... On to a new project... And i got a few questions and things i need help with... I'll start with the easy ones....

1). Making an object with sprites... or i dunno what to call them here... be able to move only left and right and not fall off the screen .

2. Things are falling, and the character has to catch them and add to the score...

3). The score system itself and how to display it...

4). And is there someway to write the variables in a .php (send score type thing) ! completed (me and friend got this one by ourselves)

Any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated...

Ever thought of doing some tutorials first and getting to know what you are doing? Maybe even buy a book to learn it all.
