I created a navigation bar for a client's Web site in flash4. I published the file as an .swf. My understanding from the documentation I read is that Flash 4 is compatible with Explorer 3 and above. I tested the site on Explorer 5 and all worked fine, but one of my clients says the file doesn't load in his browser. He uses Explorer 4.
Can anyone shed light on this?
Tks

The plug-in that is on the clients machine needs to be updated. Just send them to www.macromedia.com/shockwave Regards, Bill

Actually, I did tell him to upgrade. But that doesn't solve the problem entirely. I make a point of avoiding asking users of my sites to download applications/plug-ins to view the pages. I thought it was safe to use Flash now that the readers come with Explorer. That he can't read it with Explorer 4 came as a surprise, and a disappointment. I hoped to avoid developing an .html version.

If you are not using Flash 4 features, then save it out as a version 3 and things should get sweet again. Regards, Bill
