There was a tutorial in the 'flash magic mx' book by aria that was very similar to this. Have a look for it if you still have problems.

actionscript can be crazy sometimes. I know i've spent hours working on a preloader i KNOW works but it just won't cooperate with the file. Sometimes if i completely redo everything in a new file it works just fine (same code and everything).

next time you need help, try posting it in the actionscript section instead of the boardroom. The boardroom is more for business-related discussion

I'm also trying to create something similar...

I've searched without luck for an online tutorial on this.

Ogri -- did you use one to help you along the way?

    Any tips/resources would be helpful!

    Thanks!

    Thanks

The one at metadesign is almost exactly what I'm intending to create... Just vertical!

I'll try it out tonight and I'll be sure to post up when..err, if I run into any problems!

    Ayeee...

    Vertical's a problem. Why can't everyone run 1280x1024!?

Not only will it be hopeless on 800x600, 1024x768 can't view the whole screen I just realized!

    Must shrink site design...ahh!

Because I really don't wanna make users have to view it in full screen...

I don't because 1280x1024 squishes pixels together on a CRT monitor. The correct resolution at 4:3 is 1280x960.

That said, I can't understand how the world uses 800x600 and 1024x768, either. It is painful to my eyes to use displays with that low of a resolution.

    1024 x 768

thats what my res is due to the limitations of my screen. i8 like it i have no problems with it.

i think where design is concerned you either cater for everyone or you just make a good design as you cant keep all of the people happy all of the time.

    Well, now I'm stuck.

Orgi: Since you got it working finally, wanna take a look at mine? I'm sure you'll see the problem in a flash! (no pun intended)

    Thanks!

thanks to the good people at flashkit this file has been reworked and fixed from original. all hail flashkit.

all you have to do is change the design of the open movie.

also thanks to a friend on flashkit extra movies have been added to allow you to add content to each slider.

the only problem with this version is when you add content such as buttons etc to the pages the page above the one with the button on can access the button through the page.
