    Google cheating on Gmail storage?

    There's a lovely green message at the bottom of my inbox that says:

    You are currently using 5 MB (1%) of your 1000 MB.

    Now I know there's NO way I'm using 5 MB of storage, but I let it slide.

    I'm trying to send a ~ 600k attachment to my gmail account, and I keep getting an SMTP 552 error back, not to mention my account has been pretty lagged lately.

    Anyone else seeing strange storage issues?

    I've seen some lag lately-both in receiving messages and accessing Gmail in general.

    I'm apperantly using 9MB also, and i only have like maybe 15 or 20 emails used. I do have many attachments put up though, I wonder if its saving attachments too?I still don't think I have 9mb worth.

    Well, they've stated that the usage figures may be off. At a gig total, I'm not too worried.

    It's the lag that's killing me. Just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing it.
