fonts messing up

when i use flash mx to make dynamic content, the text gets all jacked up. no matter what font i choose, it just looks gross after i change the text field to dynamic to make the text scrollable or what not. any ideas as to why this is happening, and how to fix it? Thanks!

Select the text field.
In the properties panel click "characters"
then select "embed all characters"
