    minor problem with button behaviour

    I have a MC button to go to next scene in a presentation. it functions correctly. Only thing is that i want it to show a hit state which it doesnt on mouse click or forward arrow press on keyboard. Check this file and the action code on in the MC out and see if you have any tips.

    Thanks folks

    this didn't really work as the button didnt move to the next scene in the main clip.

    I have a main scene

    which using a button/MC Button on the main scene i want

    1.)In up state the arrow to remain white

    2.) In the over state it to go grey

    3.) in the down state go black

    4.) when hit make the main timeline go to next frame

    5.) but also on right arrow click (keyboard) the arrow to flash on screen (black) to indicate a hit.

    hope this clarifies what i am hoping to achieve

    Thanks for help recieved and to be recieved

    Your MC button has 3 frames:

    frame 1: your button colored white and a stop() action
    frame 2: your grey colored button
    frame 3: your black colored button

    Now put this code on the MC:

    Code:
    on (rollOver) {
       gotoAndStop(2);
    }
    on (rollOut) {
       gotoAndStop(1);
    }
    on (press) {
       gotoAndStop(3);
    }
    on (release) {
       gotoAndStop(1);
       // and the goto action to jump to your next scene
    }
    i eat actionscripts for breakfast
