My bad, I wouldn't mind a little insight on how that was done too.

After effects most likely. It looks like he walked his DV camera down the hall and then imported the footage in to aftereffects and connected the dots. Very cool and very well done. I have been toying with after effects a little bit lately. Very strong program. Hard to use for the web large file sizes.

When you go in for a job interview, I think a good thing to ask is if they ever press charges.

    hmmmmm

like eightamrock said, its just some video, run through a blur effect in adobe after effects, exported as bitmap frames, run through an image batch converter (plenty on tucows.com) to knock the file sizes back (the frames are blured! File size doesnt have to be big! There is no detail, besides, your gonna run between 20 and 30 of them a second!) and finnally imported into flash ...

Isnt that spectacular ... we used to do it with 3d studio max animations (as Im sure billy bussey did - http://www.billybussey.com) but in flash 4 some years ago ...

Is a neat concept, but has been for a while ... maybe I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, but I thought it was a bit of a yawn ...

the effect is pretty easy, as long as u have a dv cam and software like after effects or even something more basic. You film from point A to point b (if your doing something like going through a wall or window you could just take a clip going to it and separate going away) and then time stretch it so its only 1-2 seconds. Slap a radial blur or whatever other filter u want (maybe even an inverted fish eye lens) And you done.

The site itself is nice, the zoom effect was done well. Filesize is on the way excessive side, if I didn't have a nice connection I wouldn't bother, cuz each section has to load 1.5 megs almost.

But something that sorta bothered me, was the bio part of the site. The whole photo section dedicated to the dude's kegger-cottage vacation with his friends and dad was really not needed. Leave that junk on your webshots account, don't litter your portfolio site with it. Aside from how its not really professional, its not really relevant, and just left me thinking "why am I even seeing this...?"

you can do this with any digital camera that takes video clips...no need for After Effects..PS can "blur" a photo..

take your "clip"..run it through QuickTime..export as sequential Bitmap (or whatever) images....blur the ones you want...make it choppy by skipping frames or whatever...

after this is done..you can do whatever...leave it like it is...

or import into Adobe StreamLine..or Bitmap trace in FLash and have a VECTOR version as well (now THATS low fie size)

that is how I did these few rotoscopes. (these were done YEARS ago..with a crappy Sony Mavica...before MegaPixels..LOL)
