    Display Problems

For some reason, when I installed Max Payne (the original), my display got all messed up. Certain icons and things are sort of fuzzy. It's obviously something with the OS or a program, because I have captured a print screen of it. If you could take a look and tell me what you think I should do to fix this problem, that would be great. Thanks.

(You can notice it on the Object Dock and on Samurize)

woah man you might want to take the server address, username and password off that screenshot.

I can't answer your question, but you might want to try refreshing the screen (there should be a button on the screen, if not, turn it off/back on). Change the resolution on your display settings a couple times - download the latest drivers for your video card etc... although I assume you must've been through most if not all of those if you're posting here.

Ugh, you get packets of work to do over the summer too?

    I can't stand those.

I can't really see where the problem is. Things look grainy, but it appears to be on purpose

If you look at the dockbar. There appears to be little vertical, broken lines that aren't supposed to be there.

Stupid question: did you try restarting?

(I'll delete the SSN and credit card info this time; but next time you're paying for my plasma TV...)

BTW, way do you have a desktop shortcut to your desktop? How does that work?

It really isn't a shortcut to my desktop...it's stuff I have taken off of my desktop. I don't know why I named it like that - maybe just to confuse you!

    "Summer Tune-Up for Honors Pre-Calculus"

This summer math booklet was developed to provide students an opportunity to review important math concepts for success in Honors Pre-Calculus.
It's okay though, because I got the entire teacher's manual for the book!

Already tried all of that, and I have the latest drivers.

Any other ideas? ATI isn't being of much help here...

It seems that the problem selectively occurs. Sometimes, I don't have it; other times, I do.

I attached a clearer picture of the problem, also.

It looks confined to your dock-thingy. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling that with a new version of the icons you use?

It's on my dock, Samurize, and whenever I drop the colors down to around 256 or 16 (or when the Windows 2000 boot screen shows) there are a bunch of vertical lines.

Have you tried another video card to make sure that it's not a problem with a program, but is in fact a problem with the card?
