Good Bye Lenin!
Wow, just found out about this movie: good bye lenin
It's a german film and it looks way too cool. It was done in 2003, but well, those movies never arrived here. I wanna watch it!!!!!
And the soundtrack is simply amazing. Music composed by Yann Tiersen, the same guy that did the soundtrack for "le fabuleux desgin d'Amelie Poulain".
well, have any of you seen this one? i read it was quite a success in Europe

This movie is incredible, and the soundtrack is Tiersen at his best. You have to see it.

I watched it a while back, it's ok but it does go on way too long. Some of the imagery is excellent and it's pretty amusing but it's not an amazing film by any stretch of the imagination.

really... I wouldn't qualify it as 'amusing' - as the movie seems to be a tragedy one minute and a comedy the next - and I thought it portrayed pre- and post- 1989 Berlin very well. As you mentionned, the imagery is nice, too, but apart from that I think the historical aspects and especially the way it depicts the Berlin atmosphere (one of the major subjects of German literature) and the story of a family through the reunification of Germany are both excellent.
