As of right now, i have a working preloader up at http://www.condiffphotography.com/ , and i guess that one is fine but, the problem is that when you try to load a picture the preloader matches the loading rate but when you click on that same picture a second time the preloader does not match up with the loading rate. This is because the swf is already loaded into the Temporary Internet Files. When I click on the same thumbnail a second time the preloader goes though the whole animation. This is a problem. How can I fix this??? I dont want the preloader to go through its whole animation on th second time i load a swf. goto: http://www.condiffphotography.com/ then click on enter site, then wedings then click on a wedding and u will see pictures, and that is what i am talking about. Thanx for your help.
Basically, when the loading call is made, you sure first check on a blank frame if the loaded bytes are >= than the total bytes (indicating that the picture is already cached) and if so, skip the preloader frame(s), and directly go to displaying the picture...
Post you preloading code...
Or better attach one of your .flas (that includes this preloader), zipped up and in MX only format not MX2004 (use Save as to save a copy of this .fla in a MX only format, changing the Document type in the Save As window...), here on this forum.
Attach one of your .flas (maybe this 14 one!), so that I can set it up in one of your own files. You'll then have to manage the same thing in all your other preloaders...
Could you please explain how you set it up so the preloader shows the first time you click on the Thumb but not on subsequent times, so I can do this on my web site.
Got to clean up my own file and then insert it in your own file... Just didn't have the time to do it today, maybe by morning or a little later in the day...
Ok! Check this in the context of your whole setup... Which I can't do!
Then if it does work, you can apply the same changes to all your preloaders.
Carefull though, because I also changed the "loading message" in the "loading" clip, and inserted it in it's own movie clip, rather than the severals tweens you had on it's own timeline.
Checked on my old 56k dial-up, the loading message was terribly slow, and so I made it better looking...
EDIT: Changed the attachment to the last corrected version...
Just noticed that I had moved the preloading display, and that it wasn't centered in relation to the picture. Corrected it in the link above, but it obviously ain't in the .fla you've downloaded in my above last post. Will correct the attachment, in that post, so you might want to download it again, when at home!
