this will surely affect some of us here, as it's a monster and heading somewhere in the southeast.

well... Friday, I expect to be in Charlotte. By Monday... Baltimore.

I have friends in Jacksonville, Savannah, Cocoa Beach, and points further south, and of course, north of Charleston along the coast.

I'm still putting up the hurricane shutters while I kick back with a glass or three of wine tonight.
This one is big and ugly.
I remember Andrew well and they're saying the path of destruction is gonna be twice as wide with this one when it lands.

The chinese have an old saying, more of a curse really, which goes, "May you have an interesting life."
Well this is certainly an "interesting" hurricane season so far...

Gov. Jeb Bush has already declared Florida in a state of emergency. Mandatory evacuations for some cities in Florida are to commence tomorrow.

gust up to 176mph, just heard that on CNN... and no signs of weakening.

Yeah. This could easily become a cat5 before Sat.
I was supposed to have a 4 day weekend starting Friday but "The Company" (Ma Bell) may be cancelling offdays and calling them in for emergency duty starting tomorrow.
They sent out the message to start securing our homes tonight because we might not get a chance otherwise.

Hope this is all in vain.

This is going to be one huge storm! Category 4 with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph.. It's bigger than hurricane Charley, which we're still trying to recover from.

I'll be outside video taping this monsterous hurricane.
