    hey again

    umm.....i've noticed that the timer automatically loops

    is there anyway to stop this...at the end of the 30 seconds after the function that is run?

    because i put another frame in and put the stop(); command and told hte movie to goto it when the timer needs to be stopped but alas it keeps on looping

    thanks again

    all i've done is taken away the intro frames added a single keyframe at the beginning of the timeline with stop added to it and added a single keyframe right at the end of the timeline which i've added a stop function to.

    and then i use that to control if the countdown is working or not.

    e.g when the countdown needs to start i just _root.timerThing.gotoAndPlay(2);

    and then if i want to stop it i just use:

    _root.timerThing.gotoAndStop(5);

    which makes the timer disapear however it runs the out of time command every 30 seconds regardless of if its visible or not.

    thanks again

    hi-

    here is the fla file

    i hope you have flash 2004

    umm...just click the start timer and the timer will start however after you click the stop timer button the countdown will disapear but 30 seconds after it will still display the times up text.

    thanks,
