Roger Federer
Some statistics after his 6:0 7:6 6:0 US Open win against Hewitt:
-- There hadn't been two shutout sets in the event's championship match since 1884.
-- Sampras got No. 4 at age 22; Federer turned 23 last month.
-- Federer led the fourth-seeded Hewitt in winners (40-12), aces (11-1), and service breaks (7-1).
-- no one had won Wimbledon and the U.S. Open back-to-back since Pete Sampras in 1995;
-- including Wimbledon in 2003, Federer is 4-0 in major finals, the first man in the Open era to start a career by winning his first four;
-- he's won 11 straight tournament finals overall;
-- he's won 17 straight matches against players ranked in the top 10.
-- No man had captured consecutive major titles since Agassi won the 1999 U.S. Open and 2000 Australian Open. The 18 Slams since then was the longest drought in the Open era.
-- Overall, Federer is 64-6 with nine titles this season, all without a coach.
-- Federer raced through the opener set in 18 minutes, winning 24 of the 29 points, including the final 12.
-- Hewitt needed half an hour just to win a game, and by then he was down a break in the second set, too.
I hope some of you have seen the match. His first set was just unbelievable ... tennis from an other star. In the second set he made a lot of unforced errors, but still won in the tie break. Third was not as good as the first, but still good enough for a 6:0 against the second best player this summer and he really did not play that bad.
Respect!

Yeah, Federer's just damn good! Funny, when I first saw himhe didn't seem to be at the same level as the other "up and comers" you see, but he's now just blasted right by them.
And a lot more than just power thank god!

I heard a couple of the commentators talking about Rodick's service action, and how they reckon it will give him some serious shoulder injuries in the not too distant future.
And once the injuries hit, that't it (just look at Phillopousis)

After he got the mental training from a really good specialist he started to play better ... hmmm, not exactly better, he just stopped to lose his concentration when he had to do a big point or when he had some bad minutes in his game. Of course he plays excelent tennis right now, but what really made him this good was that mental training and his mental progress he made because of it.

Federer owns. I don't care for anyone else in men's tennis. (Exception would
maybe be Agassi.)
I want to see a Federer vs. Sampras match!!
